THREE WAYS TO WEAR DR MARTEN'S

Saturday 16 August 2014

Dr Martens, the famous grunge boot that everyone and their mum has. I think people can sometimes underestimate how many outfits you can wear with these shoes, so I put together a little collage of outfits on Polyvore.com to show you how versatile these shoes really are. This site is so addictive and I've been planning so many outfits on it recently, so if you haven't already made an account you should do so right now.

Outfit 1
The High-neck 90's inspired cropped-top is unfortunately sold out, you can find a similar one from Monki, the Asta Singlet.  Open-knee jeans are an item that I have been seeing a lot recently (and FYI I love them), if you want to be bang on trend, you can purchase these Virginia Slims. (Similar ones can be found from Topshop, their Jamie Jeans although they are a bit more pricey).

M.A.C's Rebel Lipstick is one of my favourite shades of lipstick for the upcoming autumn. Although it's a seemingly daring shade, when lightly applied it can be worn as a more 'wearable' stain.

The digital Casio Watch is also one of my favourite accessories, it's not too obnoxious, pricey, and it can be worn with any outfit. Finally, the Zara Backpack is currently only £12.99 so grab it right now. It's a simple, basic backpack which is nicely structured to prevent a sunken look when worn.

Outfit 2
Outfit 2 is a little more dressy, so if you're more of a 'preppy' girl, then this one is for you. The Green T-shirt Dress can easily be dressed-up or down and therefore is a really great piece to have in your wardrobe. It's also available in White if you want something more summery.

I thought the Tight-highs were a little cooler and trendier than regular tights, and would look really great with the boots. Because green and gold compliment each other, I selected these Rings to add a lot of detail and warmth to the outfit.

Chanel No.5 is my favourite fragrance at the moment when used with a light hand. It's not a scent that's for everybody, but it smells expensive and autumn-y. I don't recommend buying perfume from the internet if you haven't smelt it in person because if you're spending that much on a fragrance, you don't want to hate it. I have to admit, at first I really did not like the scent, but now I L O V E it, I think you just have to wait for it to grow on you. (I won't go into too much detail on this because I may do a separate blog post on my favourite perfumes).

Finally, the Givenchy Pandora Satchel... probably not something you can buy on the spot, but it's certainly very adorable and a great gift (for yourself maybe?...) If you're looking for something similar that isn't going to break the bank, this Darcy is a little similar.

Outfit 3
Last, we have outfit 3 featuring Mom Jeans from River Island, and the Cropped Turtleneck by Nadia Tarr. It's a little pricey though so if you can't justify spending that much on a cropped top, why not get this from Topshop instead.

The bag is from Zara, the earrings are Tory Burch. I don't usually like hoops but I thought these would look cute with a high ponytail so you can see the detailing. The rope bracelet also gives a nice pop of gold and the rope detail just makes the outfit look more exciting and put together.

The dark Chanel Lipstick is an 'allure'. The 'allures' are very creamy and pigmented, so if purple is your thing (it's definitely mine), then this is a lovely treat. They feel like satin on the lip and really are a luxury product (even though I don't find they last too long on my lips).
